New Kennel Club Health Pages

Dear Breed Health Co-ordinators,

I thought that it may be useful for you to know that we’ve updated the health section of the Kennel Club website by adding a new section called Breeding for health. This includes pages on:
· DNA testing and simple inherited disorders
· Inbreeding
· Complex Inherited Disorders
· Conformation related health problems

Some of the old pages, such as Health Schemes and Programmes and DNA Testing and Tools have been removed, and the information that was on these pages can mostly be found within the new Breeding for health pages. Since some of the information may have changed location, you may wish to check your Breed Club websites to ensure that any links to Kennel Club webpage are still correct.

Hopefully you should be able to find all of the old information (plus a plethora of new information), but just in case, below are some of the common links that may be particularly useful:
· DNA profiling and parentage analysisNow found in the Breeding tab and NOT in health
· A list of breed specific DNA tests – now found in Health/Breeding for health/ DNA testing & simple inherited disorders
· BVA/KC Health Schemes pages – now found in Health/Breeding for health/ Complex inherited disorders
· Breed Health Co-ordinator page – now found in Health/General Health Information/ Breed Health Co-ordinators

We’ve been as careful as possible to lay these pages out in a logical way, but if there is something that you can’t find, then please let me know.

Kind regards,

Nick Sutton
